Hello, new guy here I hope you can help meout with a project I have in my garage.
I have a 1989 S10 Blazer with a bad 4.3,Throttle body
injection.I recently acquired a 1994 Vortec 4.3,plus the computer and wiring harness for under the hood and the radiator. My question is this, will I experience any problems where the wiring harness connects to the fuse box on the firewall? My blazer has the digital dash will that be a problem?
Also someone told me the tranny wont shift properly, will it? Thanks for helping me out with this.

Seriously this is not a one weekend project, engine swaps like this need some planning to work out the problem areas.

I believe the 94 would of had a 4L60e transmission and the 89 I believe a 700r4, this will be a problem, 94 wiring harness will not plugin to the 700R4 tranny.

If time is important I would see if a TBI intake for V6 vortec heads is available, GM performance parts sell a TBI to vortec heads intake for small block V8 motors, but I'm not sure if they make one for a V6.

If you can get a TBI intake for the vortec motor you can use all the 89 computer componets and the 89 tranny.
Like I said this is mixing apples and oranges it takes some planning.

No, thats why you need a different (intake) to make all the 89 stuff work with the vortec motor.

Getting the 94 tranny would help, the speedometer will be a problem, the 89 and 94 use different types of systems for the speedometer.

There are adapters made to convert the speedometers to different systems, I dont have any info for you at this time. I'm sure someone else does.

If it was me I would be looking for a different intake, easier, faster, and possibly cheaper in the long run. If one is available.

Something else just came to mind, fuel pumps, I'm not 100% sure but the 94 vortec may of had a high pressure fuel pump, the 89 would of had a low pressure pump. So the fuel pump would possibly need to be changed.
