i got this muffler from napa because i had a gift certificate...i've bought dynomax before and been very happy, and thats why i bought another one.

i havent put it on yet, but i just wanna know what people think who already have this, or know someone with one of these. i'm worried it might be too loud, because i plow driveways in the winter.

it says it "delivers a mellow, true performance sound"

i hope that 'performance sound' isnt too loud.

The Super Turbos are my favorite sounding muffler. Nice and throaty. I think you'll like it.

Got a new exhaust system for the truck that came with that muffler. As you said, nice sound, pretty quiet except when you're getting on it, even then not obnoxious at all. I was a little skeptical at first for the same reason as you but very happy with it.

Does your truck still have the cat-converter and stock exhaust manifolds?

The only vehicles I've seen/used these on had true duals with headers and no cats, which of course made them much louder. They were by no means quiet, but weren't overly loud either. That's why I like them so much

Although the present exhaust on my truck does sound good, (single 3" with stock cat and sraight pipe from the cat-back) when it rusts out here in a year or two, I will be putting headers and true duals on it with a couple Super Turbos.

It will get louder when it breaks in but it'll never be as loud as a Flowmaster.

I'd like to try a pair of Magnaflows but they're pretty pricey for experimenting.

The super turbo's have fiberglass matting in them like the old glass-packs. It breaks down, and they get louder! It doesn't take all that long. Trust me, mine are about five years old now.

If mine hadn't gotten louder I'd have replaced them by now. I was really disappointed when I went to the muffler shop to pick my truck up. It was painfully quiet.

Like I said, they break in but still will never as loud as a Flow. Patience!

All of the above! Seriously, they're not junk and will not deteriorate in a week or even six months. But if you leave it on you will notice over time that has a nice rumble that it didn't have when new.

We used to burn the fiberglass out of glaspaks before we even put them on! Slosh a little diesel fuel around in them and light them up!

This was back when I was young and stupid. Now I'm just... well, you know...

I just recently bought a pair of muffs to hang under my 69 temporarily so to break the engine in. I just told the muff shop what I wanted to do and he suggested some turbos. What I got was some thick walled muffs that look like flomasters but there's no brand name on them. He said they are turbos. Mounted about 6"s behind the collectors with no tail pipes it is still pretty loud but less than the straight headers. Being thick walled they should last a long time. About $50 each.
