Some of you may be familiar with the name Tom Skinner who sadly recently passed away. He was an innovative self taught mechanic who hand built his own 12 Port Cylinder Head
that powered his stock cars and was also used at Bonneville by other racers. His cylinder head was known to breathe better then even the infamous Wayne 12 Port.In the link Tom is next to an early restoration of one of his cars.I should add that his cars were very sucessfully raced by Parker
Bohn(father of the pro bowler) all along the East Coast.

I must be missing something. Those look like four intakes to me - rather than six. Actually, it appears to be five intakes, but the rearmost looks like a reflection on the firewall.

Neat racing pictures though. That old coupe really saw some action in it's day! There are 4-5 pictures of it sideways on the track and a couple of it with the greasy side up!

You can see the carbs better in this pic and how the engine is set back. The current Bonneville XXO class record set in Aug.'03 is 210.969 mph by JD Tone in the "Flying Jimmy"
using Tom's cylinder head on a punched out 302 GMC.

Actually, if you brighten and increase the contrast, you'll see that there are three deuces on the enine. Those are some pretty big carb intkes from what I see.

I agree. That's much clearer!
