Hi,

Tried to open truck with keyless entry and no go. Tried 2nd fob, and same result.

Can anyone offer suggestions/advice for a keyless entry that stopped in my '03 Chev Silverado, before I make the trip to the dealer?

Thanks!

I one time had a problem with both the fob and the key. No matter what, it wouldn't open the door. then I relized it wasn't my truck

That IS funny...

One time about 15 years ago, I walked up to the wrong Silver 79 Monte Carlo with Maroon Rear 1/4 Landau Top in the grocery store parking lot... The door key worked...

I got in, but couldn't get the ignition key to work... I was frustrated, then noticed that the things laying around in the car were not mine! I was getting out when this very angry woman accosted me...

It was hard to convince here that it was a mistake, until I spotted my Monte 4 spaces over peaking out from behind a Suburban... We had a good laugh after that...

yeah older remotes were alot easier to use to open other cars....
I was once walking thru the parking lot at school, clicking my remote... and walked by a car... thump- thump!!!!!
sure enough my remote was opening this cars doors...... I locked it.... and kept walking.

The remore quit on my 99 Silverado. Key wouldn't unlock it and the lever inside wouldn't either. Had to take it to the dealer. Bad actuator. It was locked in the up postion and wouldn't let anything else unlock the door. $321.85 fixed it.

Well, I also noticed that the passenger window & door lock no longer work. Very strange. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

GM Tech,
Thanks for the info! I spoke to my service advisor, mentioned the bulletin and he said that was the fix.

I'm curious to know and for the sake of no more incoveniences each time there is a bulletin or recall that needs to be done, is there a way they can fix all of these known issues, instead of fixing each time they occur?

Thanks!

It's not an issue if it's not occuring! This doesn't happen to all vehicles, so we only fix 'em if it has the problem.

Guys just wanted to thank everyone for their input, I really appreciate the time all of you took to comment.

On a side note, when I took my truck in, the cause of the right side not working was the "passenger door module". The module was replaced, and all is now well.

GM Tech: If it's not an issue yeah, I can see how GM won't replace it....thankfully, the guys at the dealership where I go in for service is a great bunch. Thanks Bob Taylor Chevrolet!

Once again THANK YOU ALL here on the forum!!!!
