First stretch of the Spring. Haven't decided on roof and wheel color yet. Was going to go with scallop color but decided it would look too much like a cop car. Any suggestions?

Hi Guys New to the forum, This is my 51 styleline 4 door sedan with the powerglide. I'm 20 years old and recently acquired the car from my grandfather before he passed away from cancer. He new i would take care of her. Very original car, would like to update ignition and do the 12 volt conversion someday.

1950. Mostly original, 3 on the tree. Fun car to drive. Want to put a powerglide rear under it, and rewire. Other than that, just enjoy the car.

Wow gunner6165! I absolutely love that car. I went through a stage in my life when I wanted a burgundy type color for one of my cars even though I'm more partial to blues. I just couldn't find the right color. This one I think is very close to being right

Thanks farmer & johnny, the color is eggplant metallic. I like the color, its unusual around here. I have a can that was supposedly used to paint the car years ago.

Hi Inkedflesh, I like your grille, what do you think of using Pontiac head-lights with the little faux grille underneath.

Hi Coaldalecar, How wild do you want to go? how about a metal flake green roof with chrome rims. You could go quite lime colored for max effect but also a more silver hue of green to be a bit more subtle.

Cheers Kiwi

Hi Coledale, I came across this which may be a more harmonious and subtle solution. Just keeping the color and scallop theme going onto the roof.

Cheers Kiwi

New member here. Looks like you have quite a collection! I have a 1952 Chevy Slimline Deluxe and would like to post photos but not sure how yet. Are you going to paint that Chevy of yours by yourself? That has become the biggest problem for me - mine needs a new paint job and out here in California the estimates are $15,000 to $20,000 minimum! I'm 3 hour drive from Tijuana, Mexico where I can get it done for about 1/3 of that but you really have to stay with the car to make sure you get what you're paying for. Wondering if you have any ideas, suggestions or what your experience has been with painting these old beauties?

New member here: All I can say about your Chevy Deluxe is WOW!! That is what I want mine to look like! Mine is a 1952 4-door sedan too and it has 52,000 original miles, not a speck of rust and almost all original in and out! The biggest problem for me is: The pain job is shot! I live in California (split between Palm Springs and San Francisco) and have taken it to 10 different shops for estimates. Every one has come in between $15,000 and $20,000 minimum!! I'm just not in a position to put that much into a paint job. Good friends are recommending I take it to Tijuana, Mexico (3 hour drive) where I can get it done for 1/3 of the California prices. Wonder what thoughts you have on this, how you got your car to look so wonderful and if you have any ideas or suggestions for me. I'd sure hate to have to leave this car 'as is' when it has such potential. Thanks for any thoughts you want to share.
