was wundering if anyone knows the specs on the ifs axle housing, i need axle spline count mostly. i do know its an 8.25in ring gear. i havent pulled it apart yet but i need to replace the carrier and id like to get the parts before i tear it all apart.

Welcome to Chevytalk,
1988 could be 28 or 30 spline, 1989-up should be 30 spline, but considering the age of the vehicle there's no telling if it's been changed out - plus with just a one year difference those "this year has this item" rules aren't always 100% correct. You can probably bet on it being 30 spline but if it were me I wouldn't order the parts until I had confirmed it.
