96 Sub 5.7 vortex 4wd 1/2 ton. The chiltons manual says 045 gap but autozone site says 060. What is right? The underhood label is gone.Have them set at 045 now but power seems a bet down.

.045 would be where I would set them. You can run a wider gap but you're putting a strain on the rest of the ignition system to do so. Not a great idea.

Which plugs did you buy? Anything other than factory spec AC Delco 41-993 platinums, I would be reconsidering what I bought.

If power is down, time to check air filter, fuel pressure, possible exhaust restriction, etc. and general state of tune.
