Ok I have a 77 short bed that I parked about 8 years ago. Its a good truck. Not a beater. Right now I have a 350 with a carb. And a 350 turbo trans. I am going to start riping it down. I know where theres a 87 Z28 305 TPI at I can get at a good price. Its the 5 speed 215hp 295 fp of touque model. I was thinking of useing it with a 700R4. What do you guys think? I know its not the 350, But this build is not for power or for pulling. Its for daily driver. For MPG. What kind of MPG do you think I will get? Its not a 4x4.

You're not going to like it; that 305 is a very lame engine.
If it were I, I'd overhaul the 350 and use flat top pistons.

ok If I wanted to go with fuel injections. And was looking for a 350 and transmisson. What year truck/car should I look for? The block now is bored 80 over in the truck its on last leg. Just thinking it would be better to start fresh.

The TPI version of the 305 had pretty good power when it was stuffed into the camaros of the time. You would have to keep the fuel injection in order to get that power, so you would have to get a harness for that style of injection.
A TPI motor will probably be worn out though.
It would be FAR better to get yourself a 5.3L cast iron truck motor (aka LM-7) from a late model truck along with the 4L60e transmission. You should be able to find one for $1500 for both the engine and transmission. The fuel injection ECU and harness is made to operate both the engine and transmission, which you will need in order to get the fuel injection running. You will also need to install a fuel pump capable of supplying the fuel injection system.
Your truck will run better with much more power, and get much better gas mileage than if you do a 350/th350 rebuild, yet it will cost about the same as the rebuild.

Thats the info I was looking for. I had a 07 chevy with the 5.3 in it and was vert happy. With the mileage and power. I think I am going to look for a totaled out late model Truck. I could use alot out of it. And scrap it when I am done.

Welcome to the site.
If started my C10 rebuild a few years later, it would have a 5.3 or 6.0 LS conversion. You can make an LS a carbed engine. Even a carb LS is better than an old carbed engine.
Follow this PDF file on converting an LS to carb by two methods.
http://www.aera.org/ep/downloads/ep10/EP0 4-2010_10...
If you go FI and electronic trans, here is a 77 conversion you can follow. Part numbers are listed for parts too.

LS converted trucks have reported up to 20 MPG!! I can barely manage 18.5 MPG with my ZZ4 conversion. The LS engines respond very well to a bigger cam. A bigger cam adds power and still maintain fuel economy.
