70 Chevy CST with wood bed....

The wood bed is not in great shape, but I'd like to not have it get any worse - the truck is out in the rain - should I put on some sort of coating to preserve the wood?

Also - is there a outdoor cover for these trucks that's reasonably priced? Buying source?

Thanks.

Hey, I'm just down the hill from you, in Oakdale.

I can't answer on the cover, but have got an idea on the wood bed. The wood bed was am option nice. An inexpensive coating that you can use on the wood bed is a couple of coats 50/50 Turpentine, and boiled Linseed oil. If you want add a little more protection you can melt a little beeswax into the oil and turpentine. I'd start with the 50/50 and let it soak in good then if you want add the wax.
