I want to tighten up my hinges on my 63 1/2 ton and by using the "search" on this forum replacing bushings was mentioned`. I ordered new pins and bushings and to make a long story short, I don't and it appears that I never had bushings in these hinges, plastic or otherwise. Anyone else have this problem?

There were plastic bushings. They are very thin, so you probably didn't notice the remains of the plastic bushings when you pulled them apart. Or, the plastic pieces could have fallen out over the years.

Do the bronze bushings fit into the top of the center part of the hinge (the part that bolts to the body, not the door)? Some have to be reamed a bit for the bushings to fit.

Four bushings were provided for each hinge. I will have to ream these hinges to use the bushings. Holding the parts in my hand, the new pins are as sloppy in the bushings as my origional pins are in the hinge.

If the pins are sloppy, either you were given the wrong hinge rebuild kit or your hinges are too worn to be used without being repaired.

Each hinge being repaired (two per side on each door) should have one pin and 2 bushings.

While this link isn't exactly the same as what you have, the pictures in it might help you:

Plastic bushings were in the center part of each hinge. Removed the old pins and plastic bushings installed the new bushings and pins and now nice and tight.
Thanks for the help..
Bob
