besides the S 10, "G" body GM, and jags anyone installed other types and or manufacturers that fit up better and are easier to install. Know the TCI/IFS, heits, etc. do a great job, but looking for something else.
thanks

I have had one to tell me the "pacer" subframe fits well. I don't know of any other vehicle called pacer than the car that looked like something the "jetsons") used in the 70's cartoon series.

I installed a 1972 Nova Subframe on a buddy's ride for him. The Subframe is the same from 1968-1975. It is a rear steer unit meaning the steering box is behind the cross member. The truck drives nice and handles well. I took it up to about 70 mph on the freeway and let go of the steering wheel for about a mile and it was straight as an arrow. Here are some pics of the truck.

Bam 55 I assume this sub-frame was from a V-8 car? Sure looks like it sits good. A guy in the town I am from has a truck very similar to yours. it is lowered somehow, not sure how, but looks real nice. Has a late model engine and trans. in it.

This is not my truck I just installed the clip on it for the owner. I built a jig that allowed me to install it 2 inches higher so that the owner did not need drop spindles to get her low. He likes the stance and it rides great. I'm happy that he is happy.

I am a believer in simple. If I was doing this, I would just buy the kit to mount the truck on the complete S10 chassis. Actually, I lied. I would make my own mounts for this. It really depends on what you are going to use the truck for. If it's a high horsepower street rod, I'd use the aftermarket upscale IFS. I would not use any Mustang II style stuff, not that I have any good reason, it's just a personal opinion. The Pacer front suspension is a drill holes and bolt in item, but I think it'd be hard to find a good one. That's the AMC Pacer car. If you're going to use it as a truck, I would just upgrade the stock stuff and add PB/PS to it. The upside to using the S10 chassis, is readily available replacement parts, plus, V8 kits are cheap. All of the retrofit brake kits I have researched, have proprietary parts, meaning you have to get replacements from them.
Like I said, it depends on the end use.
