When I got my car back from the body shop, they had replaced the package tray cover (It must have gotten wet-sanding goop on it). I made the mistake of putting a strip of painter's tape on it to protect the edge while I worked on installing the stereo & when I tried to remove the tape, a huge strip of black paper came with it. So, I ordered a new tray cover & installed it the other day.

The edges of the package tray cover have marks on them where they're supposed to bend up. This is so the edges can slide under the trim below the rear window and fit behind the bottoms of the sail panels. To get my package tray cover to look good, & not look like I pinched it and bent it quickly, This is what I did:

I turned the rear-shelf cover face-down (when its face-down, make sure it's not going to lay on something that will scratch it... the cover will scratch and get dents & dings in it very easily). Then I used a new, very sharp exacto blade to barely score the crease-line on the back of the cardboard cover. You definately don't want to cut into the cardboard, you just want to scratch it well. Then I flipped the package shelf cover face-up & used the palm of my hand to gently push up as I slid my hand along the underside edge.

If you take your time & not rush, your rear package tray cover will look great the first time [Not like mine, lol]
