Tom...I hope it's ok to post this here.
Just wanted to say how happy I am with the wiring harnesses I ordered from American Autowire.
I ordered up a dash harness, an engine harness, headlight harness, tach harness, and a rear body harness.
I matched them up with my original harnesses and it was absolutely amazing how identical they are.
Everything matches perfectly.
The electrical connectors and the various plugs and terminals, the measurements, the harness tape, wire colors...PERFECT!
I'm going the original route with my car and I sure wish everybody gave this much attention to detail
when they "try" to reproduce parts for our cars.
Attention to detail and fit, quality product at a fair price... American made what more could you ask for?

That's what I keep telling you guys! The three cars currently in the garage are all AAW. Keep up the good work, Donny!

Glad everything is up to par, Dave. Now you'll feel safer, too.

I also agree. It was a good feeling plugging all those fresh wires right into the original clip holes and terminals. I'll definitly post up a pic tonite now that I have my sd card uploaded.

Very nice to know, quality always is a very good thing regarding wiring. I will keep them in mind for future wiring needs.

I had a great, but somewhat different experience. My engine harness matched up perfectly except for the pins in the connector. Contacted AAW, they confirmed it was a problem and they corrected the problem right away and next day shipped to me. Very happy with the service! I've since ordered more material from them.

I ordered a new dash harness thinking I could salvage the other harnesses and make do.
But after seeing the craftsmanship and quality I absolutely had to order the rest of the harnesses.
Glad I did.
Like Tom said...now I feel a lot safer using the new ones.
Didn't know I could appreciate wires and plugs so much.

It's great to hear so much good feedback about a vendor - when you live on the other side of the world it's really important to choose very carefully, freight costs are bad enough one-way, having to return a faulty item would be a real killer.

The dash wiring in my '65 Impala wagon is an absolute nightmare - surprisingly, it's never given any trouble, but...
When the left hand drive to right hand drive conversion was done (some time between '65 & '68), they simply cut through the harness & extended every wire with plain white wires.
It works, but I imagine that you can understand why I would like to replace the lot.

That's why I like this forum so much, I thank you all.

I ordered AAW battery cables for the 69 Belair from another vendor. They sent the wrong Positive cable and said they didn't have another number to get anything different. Well, I called my Bud, DonnyB at AAW. Don pulled the prints for my application, had the correct cables made and shipped to my seller. No more problem.

Guys, I'm usually in the '64 area but saw this post. Could not resist posting to add my kudo's for AAW. About 8 months ago decided to rewire my '64 Impala SS. Looked at a lot of different companies and harnesses. AAW was one I contacted. Spoke to Donny several times about all diferent concerns and issues I was worried about with the rewire. To keep this short, I finally went with AAW and it was the best decision I've made with my '64. Quality was top notch, exact match to OE, everything fit like it was supposed to fit, AAW could not have been more helpful or more patience as I worked through who to use and then actually doing it. Pricing was slightly higher than some other places I checked, but I'm convinced you can not beat AAW for quality, service, and customer care.

OK, I have to throw in my two cents...

Sure American Autowire makes perfect harnesses & accessories for our cars that are more reliable, better quality, and better looking than the originals.

Okay, I learned from AAW that the electrical tape that Chevy uses on their harnesses doesn't have a sticky side.

But that Donny guy, that guy is so knowledgable that I feel like an idiot when I ask him a question. I swear he has a brain like this guy on Star Trek.
