Hey guys,
Having trouble with my front bumper...
as you can see in this picture, the drivers side is bent up

I bought a whole new bumper and new brackets, etc. and put it on the car, and now it looks better, but the passenger side is off.

I can fit my fingers in between the drivers side edge of the bumper and the front fender but on the passenger side its almost scraping the front fender... Andy ideas? Thanks

Were there any washers on the old one?
Is the fit on the fenders the same on both sides?
I gotta go.
Good luck

Apparently the bumper brackets are somewhat bent. It appears that when hit, the old bumper was pushed UP and to the OUTSIDE, resulting in the problem of the too close of a fit on the passenger side fender when fitting the new bumper. Probably just need to reshape the brackets some, and recheck for fit.

I would say there's a good chance the frame may also have gotten damaged.

You may want to take it to a collision shop that does frame work and have it checked out.

Hi all. I'm new to this forum. I have the same issue on my 62. I have noticed many others in shows and events with the same problem. I verified the frame dimensions in accordance with the assembly manual with no issues. Could it be a final assembly plant issue? My 62 was assembled in Baltimore. Any thoughts?

I had somewhat the same problem when I reassembled my car. What I did to correct it was assemble each piece seperatley from the bumper brackets noting the gaps on both sides of bumper. Some trial and error and I was able to get it fairly even on both sides.

So my suggestion tear it down and start over.
