Hi !
I have started running ethanol on my ZZ4 engine equipped with an Accel Superram intake manifold.
The problem: i dont know if the diaphragma of the original fuel pressure regulator will deteriate over times. Any ideas on that
I thought about using one of the universal pressure regulators for alcohol, but I would need fuel rails, that fit on my engine and do have the locations for the injectors in the right place. I searched with no success. Any ideas on that
Talked to a guy from Edelbrock today and he had no clue...
Any help is appreciated,- very much !!
Thanks Cornelius

find out what material it is made of first, then you will be able to figure it out.

put a spare diaphgram into a closed container of the fuel you are using and see what happens

I own an 88 Iroc Z with an original TPI. I rebuilt the engine seven years ago and I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and they add ethanol to the gas you buy at the pumps. I have not had any problems with any of my fuel system and 50 thousand miles since the rebuild.

I am runing E-85, that contains 85% Ethanol.
I did a test with the original diapraghma, which is orange/brown in color. The "skin" of the diaphragma has started to show bubbles and will come off sooner or later.
So with an fuel pressure designed for ethanol I'll take no chances and always be on the safe side, thats my thought. Thats why I am trying to upgrade the system. The original regulator is built into the crossover tubing of the rails. I'll either have to find one that is designed to run on ethanol, or find a way to block these holes and use the plugged threads at the end of the rails for adapting the regulator or...I need to find aftermarket fuel rails (that dont have any of these GM- type holes for the crossover tubings.)
Again, any thought and inputs are very much appreciated. Cheers Cornelius
