I'm not sure... I know the shop that rebuilt my PG threw my convertor in the core bin. The convertor they gave me would not fit my flex plate and they had a bear of a time getting a replacement convertor... nearly got ugly.
Check out 348-409.com... the will be able to help for sure..

Hello Oz,
Nope.
You cannot use the flexplate - since you had a 454.
These engines were externally balanced.
The 409 is internally balanced, so you will need a flexplate for a Chevy V8 other than a 400 SB o 454 BB.
The torque converter will be fine.

Only a couple of auto flexplates will fit the 409 crank flange without adding spacers to level the surface. You can buy a flexplate without the indented bevel surface from Summit Racing, I forget which brand. Just have to look at the pictures and get the flat bolt on surface. Show-Cars might sell the correct spacer for generic flexplate.
