What type of sealer does one use in mounting the gas tank sender unit to the tank.
Does it need to be gasoline resistant?

use a gasket only. if you use a sealer on a gas tank----well,it should be gas resistant.

Remember the gasket is to be positioned only one position. Make sure it is turned into the position tha ALL holes line up.

Mine sealed fine with no sealer, just the gasket on a clean surface.

Absolutely no sealer.

Follow Grady's advice and make sure you clock the gasket properly.

Also, the copper washers under the screw heads should be annealed - as the reproductions are "too hard" and do not crush as well as the orignal GM washers were able to do.
