I noticed today that I'm getting a few drips out of the petcock on the radiate. Since I have the front all off the car it is easy to get to and see. Is it worth bring to get the peacock out of the radiator or just be aware of the drip and check the levels every few months (it's suck a small drip that it would take several months to leak out any significant amount of coolant.)

I was able to get a replacement petcock from my local parts store, Bill. They're really easy to change, 'specially with the front end off. Do it, so you've no more leaks. They're around 3 bucks here.

It looks like it would just thread out if I can get a wrench on it.

It is threaded on- mine came out easily, actually - it's brass (or at least mine was) so if you're gonna replace it, you should be able to wrench the old one off w/o damaging the rad...

Try and get one with the round extension on the front, you can then slip a hose over it and get all the drainings in a bucket.
