I upgraded the rear '50 Huck brakes on our tin woodie to '53 Bendix brakes with a 3.55 PowerGlide rear end swap. I have not been able to connect the '50 parking brake cable to the '53 parking brake lever that's fastened to the brake shoe. Than I realized the '50 cable may not fasten to the '53 brake! I have not been able to figure out from the parts catalog or shop manuals how they should connect or exactly what the cable end should look like. Can anyone who has done this upgrade enlighten me? Has anyone got a picture of the end of the parking brake cable for a '51 to at least a '58? Maybe I need to change my parking brake cables too.
Please enlighten me!
Thanks.

National Chevy has a used E brake cable for sale, they describe it as fitting 51 thru 54. Here's the pic- hopefully it will help you to see any difference in the end of the cable compared to your 50.

Ah hah! Thank you Mr. Idaho. The brake drum end is definitely different from my '50. The .50 has two little plates with a pin going through and what I need is a pellet on the end.

Good info - thanks again!

When I did the 53 PG swap into my 49, I had to use the 53 cables.
