Any difference in ordering brake parts from Kanters or Chev's of the 40's. I need shoes, wheel cylinders, hoses and a Master cylinder,,,all are leaking., and the shoes have seperated . Kanters has an Overhaul set that matches what I need, but????? I guess I could check with NAPA also

I buy all that stuff from NAPA or another parts house locally. Saves a lot of S&H.If you have huck brakes it may be necessary to go to one of the repro outfits for wheel cylinders but I would first check every parts house in town. Oh it would help to know what year car we are talking about here.

Go with NAPA. I got their (Chinese ) brake drums for my car, but to my surprise the drums seem pretty well made.

Bendix brakes, they will most likely have the parts. Wheel cylinders are the same at least through 1957 which is what I use to replace one recently.

I have found that if Napa or other large local parts stores don't have it in stock they can have it the next day.

i like kanters. never had a problem. sometimes it is cheaper from them for a kit than getting the parts one at a time. car quest also has parts for old cars, but they are too high.

Arnie, you are correct on the drums, they did fit until 62 and would work on the 1/2 ton PU as well.
