Replaced 605 box with cpp500. The shorted auto shift column doesn't have felt seal on inside to keep hot air out. Have ordered felt seal to install. looking for suggestions to keep seal in place or other options to seal inside column area.

That might be a problem, I put it in with a floor shifter, I know that there is the stock bushing and this is what it replaces, goes in at the same spot, I cant say for sure Terry sorry

No, that bearing won't work with the shift tube. Why not do it like stock. A felt washer above the shift lever and one below held in place by the cup and a shorter spring between the rag joint and washer cup. .... Link to shaft seal.

Thanks Acardon, do both seal the shaft and shift tube. Bottom of column is not sealed around steering shaft, don't know about around shift tube, haven't removed it. Where above shift lever

This one goes above the shift lever and seals between the shift tube and outer mast jacket. ... Link to seal. The smaller one with the cup and spring seals between the shaft and shift tube.

Thanks again, took apart this aft. didn't see felt washer above shift lever. Probably left it off last time I had it off. Will order both tonight.
