A gallon could equal a few miles if you run out of gas, and had to walk.

Since I don't trust my gas gauge, I don't let it get that low.
If I do, I'm usually walking at some point...

I don't let mine get below a quarter tank. It ran out once when the needle was just above empty.

Thanks for the replys. I usually play it safe and write the mileage down when I fill it, and usually try to fill it after about 160 miles. Thats why I wanted to know the capacity, so I know how much I still have left!
