Is on the auction block! Swartzenegger authorized the sale of the Orange County Fairgrounds this morning.

What's to become of CFAC, a yearly Orange County tradition for the last ten years?

A bigger venue...How about the whole beachfront area of Huntington Beach along a 5 mile route of PCH?

That was my first thought..., great minds think alike, but it would be tough to convince Surf City to host such an event virtually closing state beaches for the day.

In addition, no spectator parking available, I'm thinking LA County Fairgrounds or Del Mar, either will probably kick me out of the loop.

Why do you assume that the new owners would not want that show there?

It won't be a Fairground anymore. It will be a shopping center, industrial complex or condominium complex.

local paper talked about a non-profit that is submitting a bid. The current board is favoring continued current usages. The developers will be licking thier lips, but with some luck, it may remain in it's same format. Just under new management. There are lots of places big enough to hold the show. The first one was at Verision and the second and third shows were at the El Toro Marine base. Irvine has a couple of giant parks too. The day use at Dohney is big enough.

Word we heard was the city and others were looking at keeping it a fairgrounds/expo center if they can organize and form the organization to purchase it. There is little support for another OC developer getting rich by creating more traffic, strip malls etc. out of the property....keep your fingers crossed! We definitely will not move CFAC to Pomona or Pleasanton!

I'm keeping fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed that CFAC will still be at the Orange County Fair Grounds for years to come.

Heck, might as well even cross my heart and hope to die!

ouch man. Pomona fairgrounds is just down the street maybe 10 minutes via freeway. I will still make an attempt to make it next year though. wherever it may be, i might not be making my own schedule by then though..... bummer.

Well, CT Brothas/Sistas that looks like the end of CFAC as we know it. Sounds like a pleasant thought about Pleasanton though.

How about California Speedway in Fontana. They can open up the track for the cruise, and use the infield for the show.

They're gonna be missing a Nascar weekend soon, with the attendance at yesterday's race so poor for the umpteenth year in a row.

Hey guys relax. There will be a CFAC and Chevytalk will always be in a primo spot as long as I am involved with the show. Besides the new building going up is already beiing referred to as the Chevytalk Pavillion per Tony!!!
