Frank, are you talking about your transmission? If so, which one do you have? 75W140 is really too thick for a manual trans. The syncros like something quite a bit lighter, like 75W90 or even 5W30 syncromesh oil.
I will take exception to this. Back in 1962, when my car was new, and the 4 speed trans didn't want to shift on the very cold mornings in New Hampshire, the dealership changed out the original factory lube for Kendall 80-90-140 three star gear lube, and added 2 q ounce tubes of Lubriplate molybdenum disulfide. The transmission never gave me another morning of not shifting problems. They got the information about the lube change from the Boston Zone office.
