Hi all,

The water pump on my '33 Chevy seems to be leaking pretty badly. As best as I can tell, it's coming from around the pump shaft rather than the pump-to-block gasket.

It looks like the pump is similar to the Model As where it has a nut you can loosen and then you insert packing material (lead or teflon) around the shaft. But I can't seem to find any source for the packing material.

Can anyone tell me if (a) it does actually work this way, and if so (b) where I can find a packing kit?
