It never ends, I was told. I'm beginning to believe it. And although I can't wait to get to the part where she gets a one piece front bumper again, at this point in time the dash trim got taken off and cleaned. It went back together all right but when the key got twisted I had squat.
Removing everything from the left side of the dash again was ok and resulted seeing a floating a 18 or 20 ga. tan wire and an empty terminal on the ignition.
Looking at the wiring diagram tells me this little wire seems to control some major ignition heat in that it is connected to the solenoid!
I don't understand the function of this 'Little' wire. The diagram shows that it also feeds into the loom? That probably explains why the oil pressure lite didn't come on.
Funny, the reason the wire got pulled off the terminal in the first place was because the installer tied all his radio wires to a couple of pink feed wires, or basically the wiring loom, Mexican style with a tiny plastic tye. When the radio was let down enough, albeit supported, towards the floor the tie in took this tan wire with it. Nothing bad happened to the wire, it just got pulled off.
Can someone tell me what it is about this wire that gives it such control over major circuits? I am pretty sure it is mainly part of the start cycle but how, I don't know. Or why they use such a dinky wire? Where does it get power from? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.
