I would say, sight unseen, that the price isn't too bad if the car was complete (which apparently it is not) and the rust was limited to the floor boards and minor rust on the fenders.

What you don't want is to start with an incomplete car where hunting down the right parts is time consuming and expensive.

The six is the least of the problems. Some would prefer to keep the six for it's rarity in an SS but a V8 swap would also be a piece of cake.
