Strangely enough, the car has handled fine since I bought it in 1995, and has presented no alignment problems. I installed 2" drop spindles and power disc brakes several years ago with no problems. The only reason I was even working on the steering linkage was to replace a leaking control valve.

It looks like I'm going to have to buy a pitman arm and idler arm to restore the original geometry. According to the tech at Danchuk, the manual steering tie rod sleeve might work if it doesn't interfere with the control valve during adjustment. He said that people used them for years on power steering systems because nobody made a replacement for the power steering version. I guess I'll see what that looks like after I get it back together and replace it if necessary.

Both arms are reproduced, so no problem getting them. Don't forget to get the idler bushings too.

The long sleeve can be used, just be careful with the clamp placement, make sure it does not interfere with the control valve during the full turn of the wheels.
