    In response to deastsr

There is a serious potential gotcha on the S-10 transmissions which nobody seems to be talking about. At some point, the bolt pattern on the front of the case was changed from normal Chevy to what I would call the "Ford" pattern (because it has always been used on the Ford T-5 from the beginning).

The two transmissions are very easy to tell apart, provided you know what a normal Chevy bolt pattern looks like. The adaptor plate pictured above has the Chevy pattern. Unfortunately, I don't know what year the change took place, but I am guessing it might correspond to the 2nd gen trucks.

The later case might not be a problem if you are using an adaptor plate like the one from Buffalo, as long as you tell Buffalo what you have when you order the plate. It will absolutely prevent you from bolting the transmission directly to a Chevy bellhousing without an adaptor though.

I do not know when or if the same change was made on the Camaro T-5 case.
