Yep, we are going for a mild custom show finish paint job (not stock show finish) and so need to paint fully assembled.
The flames are done all in one hit.
First we design them on paper. Then we take them to the graphic artist. They transfer them onto the computer. A sample is printed on paper. This is placed on the side of the car with masking tape. You stand back and see if you like it. If you don't you get them to vary it and print again. Once you like the pattern you get two printed as stickers (one reversed). No need to do them by hand any more.
