Seems like Texas is the only darn state that tests for the parking brakes. I think it is worth it all in all if they combine smog with inspection.

We got lucky. The dealer in Lockhart got district to pay. We took ours in and complained about the to the floor. First they said that was OK. Then when we ask for an inspection sticker WHOOO! Your brakes are bad. See how the tune changes?
