Maybe a little dated. They still "look" good, but from a functionality standpoint, I bet you better than 90% of cars that pin the hood down for one reason or another use dzus fasteners nowadays(sometimes just called quarter turn fasteners).

So yeah if you are doing the job for a purpose rather than show, most use dzus.

I used dzus also on my car(pin on fiberglass hood so I needed something one way or another).

Installing them properly takes a lil more work than doing hood pins right, but I personally like the fact that they are basically flush with my hood.
