Hello Donny. I'm having a grounding issue with my Gen light on my dash. When I turn the car on it stays on but it will dim or brighten and cut off as I turn the steering wheel. I can't think of how turning the steering wheel would affect the light but should I check the cluster or steering column or what?
I have been away on the road. Sorry to not respond sooner. That circuit does not ground at the dash. It grounds out if alternator is not spinning or if it goes bad and quits charging. One wire comes from the ignition switch and the other from the feedback circuit on the alternator. If turning the wheel puts a load on the engine and slows it down a bit, it could make the alternator change it's charge rate which could change the brightness of the lamp. Did you check the alternator output?
