As of now the reverse is out and it leaks fluid like crazy.

When this occurs do some fix the transmission to get the reverse back if so how much is that option?

Take it out and get it completely rebuilt, unless you want to spend even more and upgrade to a 7004r or200r4. With one gear broken and lots of leaks, the transmission must have a lot of miles on it and needs a complete rebuild. I would recommend having your original rebuilt as opposed to an off the shelf transmission, unless you want to go the upgrade route.

How much is a full rebuild usually?

Last question how can you tell if it's orig or what era the powerglide is from thanks everyone.

My book says that in 63 the assembly date was stamped in the center of the pan. Odds are it is the original transmission, as they are often upgraded to TH350's or in more modern times, the 7004r or 200r4.
