Hi Tin Man and Lead -
Here's a little more information on the 1950 - 52 BelAir side window weatherstripping, in the form of GM drawings.
First of all, the 1950 - '51 weatherstripping, which must have changed late in the 1950 model year.
My 1951 BelAir has a January build date, and it has a mix of 1st Type and 2nd Type hardware and weatherstripping. I suppose that someone in the past could have put a mixture of different parts in there.
Then here is the 1952 weatherstripping:
Also, the January 1952 Chevrolet Service News has some information on the sealing strips (flippers) and weatherstripping over the side windows. And the July 1952 Chevrolet Service News has some information on lubricating the flippers.
| 1951 BelAir - Bought it in 1969, sold it in 1970, found it and bought it again in 1999. |
