You can replace that one without removing the engine, it's just a bit of a chore. There's a special tool for freeze plug installation that helps a lot.
Won't kid you that it's "easy" - a good friend of mine (with decades more wrenching experience) just did one for me in that same spot after I failed at a previous attempt.
You should be able to borrow/rent the tool from pretty much any auto parts store.
Try your damndest to avoid the temptation of the rubber expanding style plugs; they seem like a great idea and doubtlessly have worked well for some people, but I had two in a row give up in different ways, the second of which costing the head gaskets on the engine.
