Not really. He has a 1987 car, which means it's a 1-piece main seal block. The link is to an earlier 2-piece main seal block. Flexplates are totally different on these engines. In addition to the crankshaft flange bolt circle being smaller, the flexplate has a counterweight on it.
I'd stop by a Chevy dealer to get the GM P/N for the correct long block. Then shop that price at places like Scoggin-Dickey or other local dealers.
