In response to in2deep
Thanks to all of you for your responses.
"Classic", I appreciate your warning and definetely will ensure that a heater will be raised to at least two or three feet.
Also, although I will be doing a small amount of painting, I'll first heat the garage and then shut off the system when painting.
I still am concerned about what I've read from "someotherguy".
"In2deep" seems to have the kind of heater that I would be interested in although I would prefer not to punch a hole in the wall.
I've searched the internet and found a 30K BTU heater made by "Procom". It is a propane or nat gas unit.
I'm wondering if that is like the unit that "in2deep" uses.
I could place something like that close to the front of my garage on a wall close to the doors which allow lots of air flow into the garage (even when they are closed). Also that air flow would move any undesirable fumes away from the heater. I also have a window on the opposite side of the area which can be cracked a bit to ensure ventilation.
It would take about 40 ft of pipe to provide a gas line from my basement to the front of the garage. I would hire someone to install that line.
This is the heater that is shown on the Northern Tool web site.
ProCom Blue Flame Vent-Free Wall Heater — 30,000 BTU Output, 1000 Sq. Ft. Heating Capacity, Model# MD300TBA
Please be generous with any pros or cons.
It would be a shame if I blewup my 57 BA. I'm expendable. LOL!!!!
Again, thanks to all you guys, Tom
