Replaced all the gaskets, plugs wires, filter. It ran fine for me for a couple weeks. My brother in law bought it from me and it has went to crap. Getting po300 random misfire. No cel until you try to give it more than 1/4 gas. It has no power going up hills or at more than a quarter throttle. The revs go up but it slowly speeds up. We have replaced a one cool pack that tested bad, a plug that had a crack in the ceramic part, and the fuel filter. We're getting ready to change out the fuel pressure regulator and have a pump on order. We tested the psi at 38-40 with the key on, and 34-40 with motor running. Around the same driving around i think about 35 at wot. Unplugging the regulator shoots the pressure up to 60 or so motor running. I tried unplugging the maf to see if it would make a difference and it didn't even throw a cel? So I unplugged the larger connection just behind the maf plug and then it gave me a cel and a reduced engine power light. I was thinking fuel issue either the hose in the tank is rotted or the pump itself is starving the motor or sensor? Anyone have any ideas before I cut the exhaust pipe and drop the tank? It seems like it has got progressively worse. Also we changed the filter and fluid in the trans, it seemed to help some of the issue but I don't think it's the torque converter or trans cause it shifts fine in all gears when slowly speeding up.

96 Camaro Exhaust System?

Im looking for a cat back system. I've heard so people here say to stay away from any aftermarket replacements and to go with only GM replacement parts. Does anyone know the actual GM part # for the cap and rotor kit?

I saw a kit provided at PepBoys that comes with spark plug wires but I have no way of knowing if this is a GM\AC Delco part or some other aftermarket provider. Price was about $120.00.

I only want to do this once, so any part information to reference would be very helpful. Any one has opinions or info on the MSD\Accell cap and rotor kits from Jegs\Summit? Please let me know.
I have a 1996 SS Camaro and I have been having an issue with it lately. I will be driving and the engine will lose all power and shut donw. Everything else works (lights, radio, turn signals, etc) but the motor just shuts down. It does not sputter or make a noise just dead. Then you let it sit for a few minutes and it will fire back up. Has anyone had this issue with there car before and could help me think of a good place to start troubleshooting this?

Thanks,
I think that they are the same as a camaro and that is the reason I am posting here rather than go and join another forum just to post one question. Anyone know where toget some? The dealership can I think still get them but just drivers side is just about 500 for the center and rear and passenger side shows to be like $320. This is going off my estimating program. Part numbers are 10429549,10429550,1032474 4,10324745.
I'm new to this site but did a little browsing and I'm interested. I haven't done an engine rebuild before but am looking to do one hopefully soon. I came across an LT1 that I want to put in my 97 Camaro. From what a lot of people are saying, the 383 is the way to get some real power, which is what I want. I want this engine to push as much hp as I can squeeze out of it. A couple sites I looked at for 383 builds showed that I could achieve a little over 500 hp but most of those had a compression ratio of 10:1. In this build I'd like to have a supercharger as well so I know the ratio is going to have to be like a 9.5:1 or so (from what people I have talked to said that own mechanic shop). Also I would like some input on this (383 with supercharger. Good? Bad?) A buddy that's going to school for this stuff is going to help me along the way so I won't be going solo on this. Would just like some ideas maybe suggestions whether the supercharger is a good or bad idea in all of this. Thanks.
