I added a 28g gas tank and at half full you really start smelling the gas in the filler neck area and you have drive with windows down.

The vent hose is connected to the filler neck as directed installed a new stock gas cap.

Has anyone run into the same issue or any ideas?
Thanks in advance
The 6” arm ripped out of the shaft with only a small piece of the weld holding it from falling off. WOW, who would have thought?

I have an 11” Centerforce dual friction diaphragm clutch which has a light pedal so I’m surprised I broke the Z-bar arm.

I ordered a new re-enforced design one where the arms go all the way around the shaft, looks a lot stronger.

Also, a Dakota Digital dash. I've been told that I need to replace the Fuel Tank Sending Unit since the gas gauge within the Dakota unit has gone nuts (0, up, down and all over the place)

Anyway, turns out that there are several choices - all for "coupes":

For example...

PLATINUM PRO Part # FSU010148 Fuel Sender; includes Float and Strainer; 3/8 Outlet
Coupe

PLATINUM PRO Part # FSU010147 Fuel Sender; includes Float and Strainer; 5/16 Outlet
Coupe Sedan

SPECTRA PREMIUM / COOLING DEPOT Part # FG84A More Info Fuel Sender, Strainer and Float One of our most popular parts 5/16" Outlet; Coupe; Sedan

SPECTRA PREMIUM / COOLING DEPOT Part # FG84B More Info Fuel Sender, Strainer and Float
3/8" Outlet; Coupe; Sedan
_____

I'm not a mechanic, but it appears that one must know specifically which one is in the tank in order to end up ordering the right one, correct?

I'd like to avoid having a mechanic take down the tank just to see what part is being used and go throw the same routine, and expense, to replace the sending unit after it's ordered and received.

Option input would be appreciated.
I need to swap to side mounts to solve some other issues, but wondered what other issues I would create in doing so. Are there any recommended side mounts out there that will not move the engine from it's current position or move it very little to mitigate changing transmission cross mount, fan shroud, radiator position, etc..?

I have a Delray with a 406 with the radiator in the v8 position, trans mount horns removed. Currently the engine sits at about 10 deg nose high with the distributor cap about 1/2" from the firewall. Short water pump, with 3 core aluminum radiator.

would love to find a quality set of side mounts that I could install and not change the current position.

Any ideas?
It was originally a blue and white two tone car, mostly stock. Over the next year we tore the car down and rebuilt it as a mild hot rod. Painted it black cherry. It looked black in the shed, but when the sun hit it, it turned a beautiful dark cherry red pearl. When we first finished it we had wide whites and 57 Caddy hub caps on it, but later installed a set of True Spoke wire wheels with black wall tires.
Across the lower part of the trunk lid it said "Sweet Cherry Wine"
The Engine compartment was all chromed up and it had a very nice running 283 in it with an automatic.
The interior was completely redone in a grey clothe material.
We won a bunch of car show with it and had a blast, but then one thing led to another and we had to sell the car, I think it was 1988 or 89. We sold it to someone on the eastern side of Boston area.

The pictures below are of the car in 1994 I think. We ran into it and the current owner at the time. He is the guy in the middle of the first picture with the beard.

Does anyone recognize the car? Or the owner? I would sell both my current cars to buy this one back if I could.

Thanks,
I really want it to still look "stock"; as stock as a Pseudo-Junior Stocker can get these days. I have three P-case Positractions; 2 with 4.88 gears, and one with 5.13's. I've bought a pair of Aubrey Bruneau's bearing cap supports, but I've never done any real "involved" rear end work before (engines and transmissions no problem). These cap supports have to be "fitted" to the stock bearing caps; there's some grinding and filing on the stock caps in order to fit them. Back in the "old days", guys used to make their own with metal straps, but there were some commercially available ones back then also. Anyone on the forums have any experience with doing this; any old Junior Stock types here? Just looking for some advice, direction, and support to bolster my doing it. These cap supports are very nice, CNC machined, and laser etched with Bruneau Performance-CANADA on them, and a little spendy, so I don't want to mess anything up.
