Hello; I'm not speaking of the weather, it's my 57 chevy! Since wifey is away on vacation, I have been driving the Family car. Went to work on my 57. pulled the radiator, put a 1/2" spacer behind my fan, added the temp sender for the Auto Meter guage I have had that was never hooked up!, Added a temp control for the electric fan. Noticed that the connection I had for it looked "fried", well, when I removed it, I found out it was "fried" in fact!! Changed that system to a circuit breaker hooked to a relay, then to the fan, Put all new hoses as mine were like jello. I need this car to cool good so I can ad my AC Next!! Tonight the test, Got everything buttoned up, had a couple hickups here and there but, turned the key and it started right off! ran it for quite a while, that fan really is now throwing air back quite nicely. I everbodys advise and modified my shroud so the fan was half in and half out, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Guage never got above 160!!! so the electric fan never came on yet! I Am A Happy Camper!! So Far!! Only time and driving will tell! Bruce |

Good news Bruce! I've got to put a new radiator in, with new thermostat and a recovery tank. I hope to get as good a result as you did. Jr

Junior, I'm using a empty 24oz PBR can for a burp tank on my six. Should I save you an empty? The 'Widow could use a shroud, but I need a stock 5-blade fan before I'll make one - just a hoop around it. I'm picky about that broad - a 6-blade flex fan the PO used ain't PERIOD CORRECT! GREAT JOB BRUCE!!! Take Care, Tim

Hello; Don't know why I was driving here in the heat today in Florida but everything just worked really fine. In my first post I didn't mention that when I put the coolant back in, I added a bottle of some new coolent additive by Lucas (costs $15.00) which might also be helping cool things down. Next, comes tha AC system I have had laying around in the garage for 3 years! (how time flys when it's hot as hell and I always swear literally) I'm going to put that darn AC IN! Bruce |
