Im looking to hear about where to go and stay away from when purchasing a new covertible top. I dont care about original factory material because I want a glass back window not plastic. Has anyone ordered one of these with the glass window? I see some on ebay. Im not sure how the fit. Thanks

Unless you are going to be installing the top yourself, the shop will have specific vendors that they order from to ensure a good fit according to my top installer. |

Installing a convertible top requires a very high level of skill. I can tackle almost everything on my car, but I would not even think of attempting to install a top. I seen a few try it save a few bucks but the tops never fit right. Go to a guy that all he does is tops. Not the corner upholstery guy, but a real pro. You won't regret it.

I recommend Easyon tops. They do make them with glass in back. Only problem is you have to unzip glass and lay flat before lowering top. I installed a top on my 62 last year. It turned out looking very nice. I would not do it myself again. I lost 7 lbs and went through a bottle of motrin. Leave it to a professional. I ordered the black canvas top from Keeauto top. They sent me a top for a 62 Cadillac and after I installed it, the top overhung the side glass by 3/4" making it impossible to open the doors without lowering the windows. I removed it and sent it back. Then had my new black canvas Easyon top installed at Convertible world in Long Beach.

, "the top overhung the side glass by 3/4" making it impossible to open the doors without lowering the windows. I removed it and sent it back." That is EXACTLY what my top installer warned me about. He ran into the too wide conv. tops several times and had to remove and replace them. He had CROWN make to tops to his specs. |
