I installed solid motor mounts in my car and need to know if I should install a solid trans mount as well. Ive been told to match solid or match rubber but also recall being told not to use solid trans mount. Not sure what to do.
any advise would help. thanks jim

You can go either way. I see absolutely no advantage to a solid trans mount in most street driven cars.

In a high hp deal where you could have some frame twist on a drag race launch, a rubber trans mount might be a better deal.

Keep the trans mount rubber. Not that I have had it happen to me, but I have been told the easiest way to break a transmission case is with a solid mount, regaurdless of what is used for motor mounts.

FYI I run solid motor mounts on a fairly healthy BBC car with a rubber trans mount. No issues
