This is a simple quick question... Who makes the best fitting, highest quality, cut pile type carpets? It seems like Nation Chevy Assoc. is the place for interior kits. I can only do it in sections. My 51 styleline is in need. Thanks guys!

If you can only do it in pieces, go to your local big box home store and watch for them to put their auto carpet on sale and you can get it for about 50 cents a foot and it will do until you can pop for the fitted deal.

Ha! Maybe I wasnt clear. By "Pieces" I ment I cant afford 1200 for an interior kit. Im looking for a complete carpet kit, not a few square inches of carpet!

I got mine from Trim Parts. I was suspect because of the good price but am very satisfied. The carpet is nice and the fit is great and didn't break the bank. Now, in saying that I also need to say that I'm sure there are better carpets out there, but I like mine. Johnnie

It looks good my couch buddy. Did that firewall piece come with the kit? How did they work clutch, brake, steering column? Does it wrinkle over the tranny hump? Inquiring minds want to know! In reading on the HAMB, it seems that the NAT Chevy carpet kits are pretty solid. I just figured some CT members would have some more specific input to the years. Thanks buddy

That Trim Parts carpet looks good from here. I have the same question.....did the firewall piece come with? I'm sure the kick panels didn't, so I suspect you bought those seperately or as part of a bigger kit. |

My car came with a new, uninstalled kit from NCA. All in all I seems fine and fits well but it's about 1" short, exposing take bit of the fire wall. Also, no holes were cut for the peddles - kind of a pain. I'm not sure which kit it was, most likely the cheapest. Let me know if you want a pic or two.... - carl

No the fire wall piece didn't come with the kit. I ordered an extra piece of carpet 3 feet long that comes 6 feet wide and cut it to fit. I ordered it from Trim Parts when I ordered the kit so it would match. I also bought the edge trim from them and had an upholstery shop sew it on for me. I cut the column in and had the same trim sewn on there. I have a Walton hanging brake and automatic trans. which made things easier. You can see a little pucker on the right side of the hump caused by bolting the A/C into place. Just havent straightened it up yet. I wanted something different than the firewall pad thing and am happy with the way this turned out. It goes all the way to the top of the firewall by the way. Hope this helps, Johnnie
