Yep, putting 12 volts to a six volt device will cause the amperage to double. Remember we're talking about six volt horns not twelve. If we were having the current just by doubling the voltage we should keep all the six volt lamps, gas gauge radios etc. We used to use E over IxR for our Ohms Law formula. It made it easier for me in trade school. You got it now! I too agree we can use the horns on 12 volts. I do it too. It's just that I've had to up my fuse as it did burn out when I ran a 15 amp fuse.
