Charlie, did he have a Posi or peg-leg diff., what ratio? Easiest way might be to buy two pumpkins - one to put in the car for now, while he builds up a good Posi unit. Depends what you can find locally in good shape. Less work than swaping in a FoMoCo rear, IMO. It all depends on what you can find in your region. Look for Tom Parson's (DZ AUTO) sticky for converting a open diff to a Posi, if need be. The spiders seem to be the weak link in our diffs. Heck, the spiders were shot when I bought my 235 car home. Lucked into a really good 3.55 pumpkin for $40 from a club buddy. I parted out the R&P from a 4.11 and can also help with a 3.55 R&P. PM me if I can help out with parts - just cover the shipping. A AMFLO solvent sprayer and a cheap toilet brush will help get the debris out of the axle tubes! Good Luck, Tim
