i have a 80 c10 scottsdale truck im having problems with the brake light switch i need to know what color wires goes to the two connectors that plug into that. A picture would be best thanks |

right i have the orange and white wire right but theres a second connector which i believe is a yellow and gray wire with a black which is a groung i believe but the wires have came out the connector so im not 100% sure |

Was it originally equipped with cruise control? - I think 80 was the first year for CC in the trucks. That is generally the only reason to have more than two wires in the brake pedal/bracket area. If so, those extra wires may have connected to the cruise control switches that mount on the brake pedal bracket (they kill the CC when you hit the brakes). A schematic and switch mounting/location details are below. These may not be exactly the same as your MY but the fundamentals should still apply. Use the orange and white wires. Plug them onto the switch that has only two contacts. |

I think that the wires for the brake lights go on the side of the switch (as opposed to the end).
